TESOL Trainer - Adelaide

Teach International is a Registered Training Provider and an industry leader in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) training and overseas teaching recruitment.  We run courses in major locations around Australia and help ‘everyday’ people achieve their dreams of living and working overseas by providing them with a practical course that will enable them to find teaching work around the world.

A casual TESOL Trainer position has become available in our Adelaide operation, and involves working as a solo and co-trainer on our quarterly TESOL courses. This job would suit a motivated, enthusiastic person who is looking for a fun, part-time income on top of their TESOL employment and is expecting to reside in Adelaide for at least the next two years.

Duties, salary and workload:

Quarterly

  • TESOL course co-trainer – every 2 months (5 day block: Wed-Fri 5.30pm-10.00pm, Sat-Sun 8.30am-6.00pm) developing into solo-trainer status.
    (5 days every month - Wed-Fri 5.30pm-10.30pm, Sat-Sun 8.30am-6.30pm)
  • $800 gross per course ($1,000 when solo-training)

Optional Fortnightly evaluation work

  • TESOL trainee evaluation of practice teaching - every second Tuesday evening at the Adelaide King William Street training room, where we run a Tuesday evening English class (1 hour evaluation between 5.30pm-7.30pm)
  • $50+ per evaluation, inclusive of travel and feedback
  • This evaluation could be extended depending on your interest and availablity.

At minimum, applicants should have the following attributes:

  • A University degree (any discipline);
  • A minimum of 18 months overseas ESL teaching experience in a non-English speaking country;
  • Cert IV in Training and Assessment (strong advantage);
  • Outgoing personality, excellent public speaking skills, ability to communicate with people of all ages and backgrounds;
  • Some sales and presentation skills would be highly advantageous;
  • Passionate about overseas travel and your own teaching experience;
  • An understanding of, and appreciation for, the Communicative Approach to language teaching.

Applicants should possess the following:

  • A University degree (any discipline), and a TESOL qualification (to Cert IV level);
  • A minimum of two years teaching experience, including some overseas experience in a non-English speaking country;
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is advantageous;
  • Is passionate about overseas travel and your own teaching experience;
  • An understanding of, and application for, the Communicative Approach to language learning.

Teach International will provide the following:

  • Paid training to be a TESOL trainer;
  • Independant work environment and great work colleagues.
