I spent my whole childhood in Far North Queensland living in t-shirts and shorts. When I was 17 I jumped on a plane and went to Norway to go to highschool. My wardrobe quickly expanded to include heavy winter clothes and I was hooked on this new country, new language, travel gig.
I came home to do my BA and quickly returned to travel in Norway and Europe. After finishing my degree I decided on a whim, to go to Asia, arriving in Taiwan with the promise of a job, no return ticket and $200 in my pocket. Luckily for me it worked out.
I worked and lived in Taiwan for three years. I saw some amazing hidden places in the country and made some wonderful friends. The cities, while not the prettiest, were fun for scooter adventures and the mountains were fabulous. The food was extremely different, some fantastic and some an experience just to try.
I then returned to Australia to get my Masters in TESOL and to teach in Brisbane. I worked for a lovely ESL college and again made more friends with people, who also, like me, love to travel and teach.
Through these and other travelling experiences I came to the conclusion that this was not a passing fancy and I will spend most of my life travelling and teaching. Travelling while less than before still happens and I am adding constantly to my list of must live in and must visit countries.
