TESOL Trainer Qualifications
Full-time TESOL Trainer positions
Duties include:
- Co-leading a TESOL Training course (5 days) in home city once a month, and in another city once a month.
- Staying informed on the TESOL Industry and opportunities worldwide via ongoing research
- Providing TESOL-related guidance to grads via e-mail correspondence
- Conducting weekly information sessions in home city, and occasionally elsewhere as needed
- Assisting with other marketing (no experience needed)
- Conducting ongoing research, and assisting with development of Student Centre
Qualifications:
- A university degree in any discipline
- A TESOL certificate which meets the NEAS, Australia criteria
- Preferably an additional qualification to Post Grad DipTESOL level
- A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Minimum two years of overseas and four years overall of ESOL teaching experience
- A passion for teaching and travel
- Outstanding communication skills
- Excellent computer and internet skills
- Willingness to travel
- Strong interest in assisting with research and course development
- Interest in assisting with marketing (no prior experience needed)
- Highly self-motivated; able to work well with little or no supervision
Assistant TESOL Trainer Positions
Assistant TESOL Trainers work on a part-time casual basis in a team-teaching relationship with a Lead TESOL Trainer, and under the supervision of the Academic Director.
Duties include:
- Assist in the preparation of course - set up chairs, tables, resource table etc.
- Assist in teaching of courses alongside a lead trainer as required
- Assist lead trainer in maintenance of the course kit and inform lead trainer of required resources and course supplies to be made/ordered
- Conduct evaluations and give personal feedback to students in the course
- Assist in conducting personal interviews during the course
- Liaise with lead trainer on aspects of the course outline etc.
Marketing duties if required include:
- Deliver Information sessions weekly or as required (as per info session guidelines)
- Complete an information session report within 24 hours and email to relevant office staff
- Deposit money into TI account within 24 hours and notify registrations (Direct deposit form to be filled and emailed)
- Email all information regarding student registrations from the night
- Mail within 24 hrs information session surveys and registration forms to head office
- Stay abreast of the TESOL market locally and overseas to provide accurate information to students and prospective clients at info sessions and courses
